Asateaque Island - Camping and Ponies

Are you looking for a place to get away from it all? Someplace that is both secluded and quiet? Then Assateague Island has a lot to offer. I know that my family has camped there many times and we enjoy it more with each passing visit. (except for the mosquitoes)

There are a lot of things to see on Assateague Island. You have the beautiful beaches and the Fearal Ponies that are so popular. You can fish and go clam digging or just enjoy the camping that Assateague has to offer. One thing that is for sure is that you wont run into too many locals. There are only 7 residents on the entire island of Assateague, all of them on the Virginia side and none on the Maryland side.

So if you are ready to get away from it all then take a trip to Asateaque Island either in VA or in MD. You will not regret the quiet and peace that camping on Assateague has to offer.
