Our first glimpse of Gainesville let us know that we had entered Gator country. Yes, Gainesvilleflorida is the home of the University of Florida and they are all about their football team. If you have the opportunity, we highly suggest that you make your trip to Gainesville in the fall so that you could take in the excitement of a college football game.

If you shopping is your style, you will not be disappointed. Gainesville has the usually mall that you can find other places. However, it is packed with boutiques and quaint shops that can only be found in college towns and southern communities. Don't be afraid to ask around about different shops. If you don't ask, you might never find them as some of them are tucked away on side streets.

Nature lovers will also be happy with Gainesvilleflorida. There are parks, nature centers and year round outdoor activities scheduled. You can hike a rail trail or enjoy a fishing excursion or trip to one of the many local springs. In addition, the ocean and gulf are just a short drive away and you could enjoy a full day at the beach and still make it back for dinner.

We were glad when we finally made our trip to Gainesvilleflorida. We went in October so that we could catch a football game. The weather was beautiful and warm so we were able to get some beach time in and enjoy a hiking trail as well.
